Spica has released entry level version of Time&Space, its highly successful access control and time management software suite. Lightweight version called TS Express or TSX for short, is targeted at small to middle sized companies with less particular requirements and tighter IT budget.

TS Express (TSX for short) is 100% web enabled, so once installed, only a web browser is necessary for using the system. Number of users and clients is limited only by license.

Although simplified in comparison to Time&Space, TSX shares the same software platform and structures, so that it can be easily upgraded to full version at any time.

TS Express is limited Time&Space license with reduced functionality for entry level market. The main imitations in comparison to the full Time&Space license are:

• Simplified organisation and system management structures.
• Simplified time/attendance setup capabilities.
• No advanced access control features like alarms and visual monitoring.
• Only license-free database supported (MSDE or SQL Express).
• Support for up to
• time recording or access control points in total.

With over 2300 company licenses sold, Time&Space has one of the biggest installed base in SE Europe. With more affordable pricing/packaging of TSX, Spica is hoping to expand more into entry level market segment. And since lot of new companies are growing on the emerging markets in the region, Spica expects to capitalize on future system expansions and upgrades.
