Time&Space Database Audit and Transaction
Logging (DATL) module is a surveillance mechanism that watches
over all writings performed on the Time&Space database. On each
database change the DATL stores transaction details as a record
in the audit log database. The transaction details include
answers to the following questions:
- Which was the type of the activity
(insert, delete or update)?
- What was changed?
- Who made the change?
- When did it happen?
- From what location on the network?
DATL is an optional module of the
Time&Space distribution package in versions 6.40 and higher. It
comes with monitoring tool integrated with the Time&Space
Manager. This tool allows the administrators to:
- View the history of the database
transactions chronologically,
- View the history of changes performed
on a single record, and
- Filter logged transactions by
date/time, user name, network location, type of the activity
and/or the database table name.
For more demanding users, Spica
International, besides the standard DATL module, offers tailored
audit logging solutions that include:
- Integration with various logging
systems, or
- Custom reporting.
