access control and video surveillance with web cameras. Web
camera (network camera, webcam) is increasingly popular and
affordable general purpose video surveillance technology. As a
pure "network appliance" it has a number of
advantages, like built in web access and broadcast capability,
remote administration, autonomous operation and ease of

Moreover, webcam approach to video surveillance has a
number of advantages over conventional CCTV (closed circuit
