Route
accounting is an important component in successful sales, so for
many merchandisers particularly in food industry it is an area
of priority investment. A van driver equipped with a hand-held
computer and integrated printer undoubtedly has a great
advantage over conventional delivery man, because the service is
faster, more accurate and above all more flexible. And many will
agree that today flexibility makes all the difference. But to be
flexible one needs to have real time access to the critical data,
to have adequate tools to turn raw data into meaningful
information and instantaneously put it to use. The Frontman
database on the hand-held computer contains extensive data about
all customers who need to be visited on a specific route,
including short history of sales transactions. All data
resulting from a visit to a customer are entered on the spot,
and you can generate receipts, invoices and similar documents at
the time of transaction. These data are transmitted to the
central office via a GSM/GPRS phone or a modem for further
processing and deployment.
What are the advantages?
- On-the-spot data entry and printing of documents
- administrative tasks are simplified and made
faster, so the field force can dedicate more time to
the customers’ needs.
- Faster and smoother delivery procedure creates
room for expansion without additional investments.
- Costs are reduced through the flexibility of
route planning, efficient handling of returned goods
and greater accuracy of transactions.
