Wings Media: Exceptional growth in recent years
“I didn’t even do much research. SPICA’s solution convinced us immediately. I knew this was it.” Miloš Stankić
It is no coincidence that the company Wings Media from Brčko in Bosnia and Herzegovina is called exactly that. The owner and director, Miloš Stankić, worked for many years for Red Bull as their brand ambassador.
The slogan “Red Bull gives you wings” also inspired him when choosing the name for his own company. That is where the word Wings comes from. The word Media, on the other hand, is used because it is a kind of general term for the public space, explains Miloš Stankić.
Wings Media is engaged in e-commerce and marketing in 75 – 80% of its operations. The rest consists of wholesale and retail. When the company was founded in 2020, they initially focused on medical uniforms and then gradually developed the sale of other products as well.
After medical uniforms, Wings Media expanded its business with new brands in the field of medical footwear and many other products, including those not related to the medical industry.
“Our latest project is, believe it or not, children’s clothing. We simply have some very good e-commerce deals with our suppliers for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” says Miloš Stankić.
In recent years, the company has been growing extremely fast. Last year it generated €2.3 million in revenue, and this year it will already reach €4 million. Last year the net profit was €350,000, and this year it will be half a million euros. Since last year, they have hired five or six new team members.
Miloš Stankić: “Such growth is not the healthiest, because it must be monitored. It is difficult, stressful, and demanding to keep up with such exponential growth. It is not easy. Things happen quickly, so decisions also must be made quickly.”

Challenges: Too many employee questions regarding working hours
At Wings Media, 20 people work - employees and external collaborators. Most of them, 17, work in the company’s offices in Brčko, while three are occasionally in the field. Most of them work both from home and from their offices, from vacation, winter holidays, well wherever they happen to be.
With the help of SPICA’s mobile time and attendance tracking application, they simply clock in, and at the end of the month the company receives all recorded data. Based on this, payments are calculated according to the hours worked.
“I have a very good relationship with my employees. Because of that, people were constantly sending me questions via Viber, WhatsApp, email, or calling me on the phone to request annual leave or ask some other question related to working hours.
It happened that I got confused because of all this and ended up depriving someone, or myself, of days off. That is why the biggest advantage for me is a centralized solution that is user-friendly and has a nice graphical interface,” explains Miloš Stankić and adds:
“I didn’t even do much research. SPICA’s solution convinced me immediately. I had already been looking for some system for recording working hours with cards. I immediately knew this was it. We tested it for just one day. For me, this is the greatest relief.”
Solution: Geolocation prevents misuse
A younger team has no problems with the time and attendance application in 90 % of cases. The biggest issue at the beginning is simply forgetfulness. However, employees help each other and remind one another not to forget this obligation.
Thanks to the centralized system, shift leaders also know who is on shift and when, as they can see this in the calendar. This makes shift planning easier. Since September, a person has also been employed to handle the administrative part of the work, as the company is growing extremely fast. Of course, the solution is used for all forms of presence at work and absence from work: sick leave, meal allowance, vacation, and so on.
Employees work in two shifts. A very important feature when choosing options in SPICA’s solution is the restricted location (geolocation) of use of the mobile application for time and attendance tracking. The clock-in option is limited for most employees to a radius of 50 meters from the workplace. “So that people wouldn’t clock in from the parking lot, the bakery, the health center, and similar places,” explains Miloš Stankić.
Employees can now also see their own status regarding working time data. At the beginning, there were some comments along the lines of “well, another app.” But previously, 20 people were constantly asking the director how many days off they had left. If he spent just 10 minutes a day on this, that is 200 minutes or more than three hours per month.
“I’d rather spend that time watching a good movie than answering such questions,” Milan Stankić jokes slightly, but he actually means it seriously.
Future: they may even employ 100 people
“I hope that one day we will either enter the European Union or that trade with the EU will be liberalized. That we will be able to operate globally. I guarantee that we would employ a hundred people without any problems.”
This is how the owner and director Miloš Stankić views the future of Wings Media. When this happens, the SPICA solution system will be even more indispensable. It will enable even more efficient time and attendance tracking, also in connection with employee payments.
At that point, the company will certainly use many functions of SPICA’s solution, as Miloš Stankić is very comfortable in the digital world. Therefore, it is no coincidence that SPICA was suggested to him by the old, mighty Google.
Results
- Employees and director. Everyone now clocks in via mobile phones at the company workplace or even without physical presence, which represents a great relief for the director.
- Geolocation. Time and attendance tracking is possible within a 50-meter radius of the workplace, preventing misuse of the system.
- Shift leaders. They can plan and manage employees’ working hours more easily.
